Have you pulled codes?

My 86 drove me batty for weeks. turned out to be EGR and TPS. I pulled the codes. worked out nicely.

If you need any links to run the tests let me know. I know the haynes manual has them.

good luck.

The Comp. stores error codes if it is getting poor signals from the sensors.

Here are some links.

Well on my '86 the fuel selector valve was right under the drivers side door with 6 lines, 2 on one side and 4 on the other... Basically the selector on mine works with one way valves... when one of the pumps is pushing fuel it closes off the line to the other line to the other tank... As far as dist. timing I say set it to stock then pull the codes. Use the link rustbucket provided the instructions are very accurate. Also the DLC was on the right hand side of the engine compartment right near all the vacuum solenoids...
