This forum is great and has helped me a lot in the past. I have a problem with the A/C on my '90 model, it only blows hot air and when you turn it off it sounds like a whine as if pressure is releasing. Any one have any suggestions?

 

Check to make sure the compressor is spinning properly, and then move on to checking freon charge.

I locked the compressor on my '95... locked solid. Amazing thing was that since the charge was still good the pressure switch wouldn't stop the clutch from engaging.

It would turn the belt on the pulley without much effort, and remain fairly quiet doing it. I knew there was a reason that belt got trashed quick!
