o2 sensor

Well..I had the cil come on..threw out a 172..lean hego...went out and got a new one....drove it for 15 miles..the motor began to buck....cil came back on..same thing 172...I disconnnected the new o2 sensor..it throws of course the same code...my question is could I have gotten a bad sensor or maybe something is blowing up the sensor? I have checked for vaccum leaks..none..replaced the pcv..act, it's not the egr..Any suggestions?
Thanks!

Have you reset your computer since replacing the last sensor?

yes, restested it and its also showing a 114 ...cant idle down enough during the run test.....and during the test there is a point where it will idle perfectly....then begin to miss slightly....

The O2 may not have been bad. It could be a fueling issue making you lean. Regulator, pump, etc...

I'd check the TPS too

Thanks for the replys.....Hit Man X, You were correct..the o2 sensor was not bad...I took it back and tried another one...same thing...TPS is new..ACT sensor is new..EGR vacuum solenoid is new(looking for a previous problem)Bad jet chip was that problem..but maybe not.....
something I forgot to mention, now that I am home and not at work...the old pcm, well the thing fried at work on Monday. The truck died when I was trying to go to lunch....started fine and 30 seconds later died..stopped dead in its tracks. Turned off and on the key and the cil would not come on....sure enough the thing fried......how it fried? Mess with a jet chip when the truck is running and find out Got another box from the junk yard...same part number...same calibration code ANT1...(maybe a bad box).....I just filled up with gas the same day I replaced it...Gone 175 miles and am almost empty..(bad gas?)I'll fill up again and if the cil still comes on, I will try another box...
Again Thanks alot!

I already did that....the new (used) box is the one throwing the codes...

Does anyone know if there is suppose to be voltage in the wires that go from the BOX to the hego? It has power going to it for the heater in it...but no voltage on the data wires...I thought there was suppose to be some...
Thanks

From my memory there should be a hot wire to the O2 for it to come on, then it should signal back to the PCM/ECU in the mV...

Sound right? It's early for me.

You should have voltage going to the sensor, but it is for the heater in the sensor. The sensor puts out its own voltage.

Well, apparently there was a problem with the ecu....there was no voltage on the o2 sensor wire (not heater wires) going to the ecu. I should have seen between .1 and .9 volts...I took the box back....Put in a different box and all is well....There must have been a short in the box. Gas milage back up to 18mpg and it runs smoooth! thanks again fror the response!
