Exclamation trouble starting after engine is warmed up

I have a 1988 f-150 with the 302 4 speed in it. In the morning I can go out side and it will start right up but if I were to shut it off and try to start it again it will only crank and crank and eventually it will start up and I also have the gas pedal to the floor. all I want is the truck to start ever time I get into it. I was told to check the starter and cables but I don't think thats it I think it is something electrical can some one please help me with this.

If it's cranking it's definitely not a starter problem. I would go after an egr valve sticking open, or more likely a fuel injector leaking down. When the trucks cold a leaky fuel injector would hurt much because the truck needs to have lots of fuel to start cold. When the engine is warm though it could cause the engine to act flooded.

I'd also check the TFI module on the distributor.

I have this exact same problem, although it comes and goes. This isn't the first time, either. Before, it turned out to be a bad water temp. sensor. But this time I think it's something different. I highly doubt it's the starter, or it would be tough to start everytime. I just put brand new fuel injectors in less than 2 years ago. My money is on some kind of valve sticking or something of that nature since it comes and goes. It is especially bad after I've driven on the freeway for awhile and pull off to get gas or money at the atm and then leave. Basically, when the engine is very warm and I only shut it off for a couple minutes and try and start it again, it doesn't want to start. It's a real pain in the a$$.

I also have the same problem... and mine is constant not intermittent. It gives a good cold start but needs to turn over many more times on the warm start. When it does finally start it revs slightly and then RPM’s drop to a near stall. As a result of not being able to start the truck at all (different issue, I think due to a bad O2 sensor) it has a new O2 Sensor, MAF Sensor, plugs, plug wires, and distributor. It did it before all of this work and continues to do it. It’s very disappointing and would be great if someone has figured it out and we could get a fix.
