Aftermarket Radio Install Question
Aftermarket Radio Install Question
I have a 1994 Ford F-150 and after upgrading my cd player for the third time i got curious about something....I have always just slid the radio in in the cradle that comes with the radio i'm installing which works out good with the setup of the truck but sometimes when i hit a bump it tries to slightly jar out so because because of this and the fear of someone stealing my kenwood i was wondering if they make a install kit for securing the radio like the do on most vehicles dont get me wrong the way it is looks good and works out great but i'd sleep better at night knowing the radio i paid 600 dollars for is tightly secured in the truck!
Thanks Guys This site has been a great deal of help for me and my truck!

Well lets see here, on this cd player you have, the holder it has, a metal frame that the cd player goes in, it has like this right, with tabs all around it? If so, what u need to do, with the player out, and the frame in there, push down as many tabs around there that are up against your inner dash to tighten itself in there. Write back and tell me what yours is and some info.
Install that "tin can" retainer first. There are tons of locking tabs to hold it into your dash. Secure it the best you can with them then lock the deck into that "tin can"
Nothing is unstealable but you can make it the best you can by keeping the interior as plain as possible.
