1989 E-350 Exhaust System w/ 4.9 I6 300
hey guys- I know that this is mainly an F-150 forum, but thought that you all could give me some suggestions. I work for a church that has an E-350 15 passenger van with the 4.9 liter I6 engine. I don't know much of the history of this van, but lead the youth group for the church and are taking the van on a 4 hour trip this weekend. I took it to the shop to have the oil changed and have it looked over, and they recommended replacement of the catalytic converter, the muffler, and the piping for that stuff due to rust and the parts being worn out. I was wondering what you all thought about this and if it will be ok for the trip. Also, the prices that they quoted me for this was $140 for two sections of differently sized 10ft pipe pieces, $6 for hangers, $250 to replace the two existing catalytic converters with a heavy duty single catalytic converter, $8 for 4 clamps, $50 for a muffler, and $82 for 1.5 hours of labor. What do you all think about this stuff? Do you think it will be ok for the trip for now? Also, do you think the prices are decent prices for the equipment and work? Thanks alot and have a good day.
