seafoam - locating brake vacuum booster

Hey guys,
I'm having an idle problem, read good things about seafoam on the board and bought a bottle. I says to introduce it into the engine through the brake vacuum booster. Can someone confirm that the booster line is the 2 foot, about 1/2-3/4 inch dia. hose that comes off the round thing (I think the brake booster) mounted on the firewall in the engine compartment in front of the driver. The hose heads over into the engine about half way up on the drivers side. Is this the line I want to use to pour in the seafoam?
Thanks for all the great info.

Hey boatdude,
When you use the Seafoam, make sure you let it sit for 10-15 minutes after it gets sucked into the engine. When the engine begins to bog down because of the Seafoam, this is when you shut the engine off to let the stuff do its thing.

Thanks for the quick reply. This board is great!! Now I just need the weather to cooperate to get it done. From other things I've read I suspect it may be necessary to look into the idle air control or the throttle position sensor but I figured I would start with the easier stuff first. Thanks again...I appreciate the help.

Well, as is often the case my first attempt at doing something mechanical was unsuccessful. I was not able to get the tube off of the brake vacuum booster. It attaches to a plastic piece and I was afraid of breaking it...anyone have any tricks to get it off.
Thanks.

It should have a compression clamp on it. All you have to do is decompress the clamp and slide it down the tube. Once this is done, twist the plastic fitting while pulling, and it will come out. You can also remove the fitting from the booster and use it as a method of introducing the Seafoam.
The fitting may seem hard to remove, but it is only being held in by a rubber grommet.

That "plastic thing" in the end of the hose is a check valve. I wouldn't pour any Seafoam through it. Just do as suggested, and move the clamp, and twist and pull. You'll be successful.
