1989 F150 I-6 Stalling

I got one for you guys. 89 F150 with the I-6 and 5spd. Driving down the road all of a sudden it will die. Sometimes it will start right back up sometimes it won't. Have replaced the ignition module on the side of the distributor several times (different parts places and different brands) to no avail. I am going to check fuel pressure today but other than that I can't think of anything. I get a new distributor for $62 so I thought if it dies again and fuel pressure is good I am going to replace the whole distributor this weekend. Any other ideas? Thanks guys.

Before it dies is it runnig normally or have you been feeling a significant loss of power since this problem started? I had a similar problem with mine with stalling, and hard starts and it turned out to be the coil. In my case when the truck was running it didnt have any power and was barely moving.

Changed the coil, it did make the truck run better (original coil had been on for 395,000 miles) But it still died after I replaced it.

The PIP module in the dist. could be bad as well. Are you losing spark ? IE when it won't start do you pull a plug or coil wire and check for spark ? If no spark it's probably the PIP since you changed everything else (provided the wiring connections are good). If spark is OK then you probably have an ailing fuel pump.

Thanks for the replies guys. Come to find out it is the fuel pump...high pressure one. When it dies it only had 5 psi...I strted it back up let it run then the pressure dropped and it died again.
