Hi all i have a question,,,,i was looking at a 88 F-250 with a 351 and auto (with overdrive i think) what kind of fuel milage should somthing like this get??? right now im driving a 89 F-350 with the 7.3 diesel and a c-6 trans...thanks shan.....

I'm not sure, but whoever is familiar with the 351's would probably like to know for sure if the tranny is OD. My guess is that most likely it's the E4OD maybe which would have OD. Also, is it 4WD or 2WD, and what is the cab/bed configuration? The weight of the vehicle will factor into the fuel mileage. The final drive gear ratio should be considered as well. Since it's an '88, it is presumably fuel injected. I believe that was the first year the 351's came with EFI fuel delivery.

 

from what i can see it has an 8ft bed / regular cab / says 4x2 on the side / looks to have 235-75-? tires on it / not shure on the OD as i have not driven or been inside it, my thought was it is an 1987 but the guy at the car lot said it was an 88, i was tryin to get a litle info on this type of truck and its dependabilty(sp) thanks shan.........

 

Your looking at about 12mpg. You might get 14 or so.
