FYI: 1995 Changes
Someone asked recently what the changes were between the different years and models, and I have some new info I thought I'd share for the hell of it. This comes from Ford's 1995 New Model Training Manual for Selected Light Truck Lines (featuring Explorer). BTW, I also have the changes for the 1995 Ranger, but they are extensive, and since I type two fingers at a time, I'm not adding them here. If someone wants them, let me know and I'll photograph the pages in the manual and send them to you.
Also, as a footnote, the Engine Performance changes specific to the 4.9L and 4.9L California engine are not present in my 1995 4.9L California engine F-150, so take it with a grain of salt.

Major Product Changes
The 1995 F-Series is essentially carried over, with improvements in Powertrain, Braking and Options.
Functional Revisions
*7.3L DIT Power Stroke diesel engine w/EEC-V replaces naturally aspirated and IDI turbo diesel engine automatic transmission applications.
Model/Series Availability Revisions
*Eddie Bauer added to F-150 Regular Cab and SuperCab Styleside.
*F-Super Duty Commercial Stripped Chassis discontinued.
Exterior Revisions
*Standard 4x4 decal deleted.
Interior Revisions
*Rear jump seats dropped as standard on SuperCab.
*Carpeted floor mats added to Crew Cab (XLT).
Option Revisions
Options Added:
*Flareside cab steps available on Regular Cab and SuperCab Styleside models w/clearcoat paint.
*Pickup box delete available on F-350 SuperCab and Crew Cab models.

*California Emissions upgrade (4.9L and 5.8L engines).
*Dual HO2S located in exhaust manifolds (4.9L engine).
*New EGR control mounted on top of upper intake manifold (4.9L engine).
*New EGR pipe w/California emissions (4.9L engine).
*New air cleaner housing (4.9L and 5.8L California engines).
Engine Repair
*Revised oil pan gasket, rocker cover, and rocker cover gasket (4.9L engines).
*New aluminum radiator (7.3L DIT Power Stroke diesel engine).
Suspension & Steering
*Revised front suspension (7.3L DIT Power Stroke diesel engine and E4OD transmission).
*Fixed shaft steering column.
*Redesigned hub lock for air bag clockspring.
Electrical
*95 Amp generator (4.9L and 7.5L engines).
*215 Amp generator (Ambulance Prep Package).
Manual Transmission & Drivetrain
*Revised mechanical hub lock design.
*Revised automatic hub lock design.
Automatic Transmission
*Redesigned OD assembly on E4OD transmission.
*Ball bearing center support on E4OD transmission.
*New 6 stud multi-plate torque converter (7.3L DIT Power Stroke diesel engine).
Brakes
*New HD disc brakes for F-250/350.
Body & Misc.
*Improved high sensitivity electronic inside rearview mirror.
Pre-Delivery
*Thermally stable axle lubricant.
