Need help on 87 F-250 ECM

Hi folks,

Hope everyone is having a great Turkey day.

I am having a problem and need to see if you can help me out.

I need to know what if any part of the ignition is supposed to be behind the passengers side kick panel on my f-250 with the 5.0l and manual tranny.

Without going into a long story I just got my truck back after 8 months in an impound yard and I think they helped themselves to the ECM or whatever the computer is called on this model truck.

I have 2 wiring connectors hanging down behind the panel but they are not connected to anything, and we can not get the truck to hit a lick, and yes it did run when they took it.

Thanks
Paul

How many wires are going into those connectors? I believe that the ecm is up under the dash. Right behind the pasengers kick panel is the inertia switch (fuel cutoff switch).

One more quick check when you turn your key on and all the bulbs lite up soes your check engine light come on? If it does then your computer is alive and well. At least that's how all the newer vehicles are wired, yours should be the same.
