A couple of things to check would be the regulator and the line pressure from your tank up to the motor. You can pull the vac. hose off the regulator and see if there's a bunch of wet gas in there and you'll have to get a pressure tester for the fuel line and check it at the shrader valve(looks like a valve stem on the fuel rail). There is a running pressure to check as the motor runs and after you shut it off, watch to see how long it holds pressure. A Chilton's or Hayne's manual will show you the steps. I'm not real familiar with the 4.9 six, but it'll troubleshoot the same. Others here may have more. Good Luck!

Are you sure it is a fuel problem? If it only does it when warm or hot I would guess a coolent sensor or maybe a vapor lock condition. However, I think the symptoms sound more like a ignition module.
