aod gave up the ghost
aod gave up the ghost
well last night my aod finaly gave in, it still runs and can be driven but it has a real bad vib. I should have it rebuilt during turkeyday break with the help of my G/F uncle who is a ford senior master mech. but in the meantime I have to get my 94 mustang running since I had plans on building a long rod 306 this winter after I lifted a ringland on a piston and have to drive on that short block for what looks like about 2 weeks
. I knew it was a matter of time on the aod, the first owners (who I bought it off of) had to replace a 302 at 99,xxx miles (that replacement motor needs to have a good work over on it already as well) and from what I can tell they knew nothing about how to take care of a automobile. However the aod did last 171,xxx miles and that I think is amazing.
