Question Is my fuel pump on it's way out???

Hey guys.
The past couple of weeks I've noticed that when I switch to my rear tank I don't have the power that I do with my front tank. It runs fine with the rear tank selected. But it doesn't seem to rev as high when I really get on it.
Has anyone ever heard of this? Or is it just me imagining things ?????
Could the rear fuel pump be on it's way out?
Also, both in-tank fuel pumps are original from 1991.
Any input is appreciated.

Jerry D.

It could be a few mthings, but the odds are your pump is getting tired. Do you have a preferred tank that you use? If you do, or did, and it was the rear tank, that would convince me.

Take care,

Thanks for the replies.

This is kinda weird, I usually use my front tank. Maybe it just has some crap sloshing around.

Does your truck have an electric pump mounted on the frame also, or just the 1 in each tank only?

Wasn't it Pre-92's that had the low pressure pumps in each tank and then a single high pressure pump on the fuelrail?

I checked my whole frame rail. Nothing but a fuel filter and fuel lines.

I asked that mostly out of curiosity. I used to have a 90 4x4 with a 302, and every parts store around said I should have the 2 low pressure in tank pumps and a high pressure on the frame. Mine also just had the in tank pumps.
