Need to find an alternator...
Does anyone have any suggestions on a good high power (around 130 A) alternator? I'm finally getting around to upgrading my stereo system since I'm back to working at Circuit City and I'm going to need some more power to run 2 amps and hopefully electric fans a little later down the road. However, it seems most of the alternators I've found are for Mustangs. I guess I'm just not looking in the right places. If anyone could point me in the right direction or offer some recommendations, that would be great. Thanks!
P.S. I figured since I wasn't going to do the gear swap for awhile, I might as well upgrade my stereo sytem as consolation and take advantage of my half off employee discount

I've been considering upgrading to, I've seen a brand called "POWERMASTER" I think it was in a summit catalog, don't really know anything about them though, sorry. Be sure to post what you buy and how well it works, I'll wait and let you be the ginny pig
Melovidov21,
It all depends on how much green I feel like puttin' down at the time I guess...lol When I'm in my "don't care about anything but performance mood", I just want to get a single 10" Infiniti subwoofer, and bridge 2 channels of my current amp to that, and continue running one channel each to my door speakers (see my sig. for what I currently have). I could do this for under $100 including the sub, the sub box, extended warranty, tax and proffesional install. Or, I might get 2 Infinity 10" subs, buy another amplifier, probably an MTX for the subs, and use my 4 channel amp to power just the door speakers. This would run me about $450. Or, I could go "all out", and buy a custom box that holds 2 10's and get 2 Alpine type R subs, and the MTX amp. This would probably cost me around $700. Just not sure how much I want to spend yet. Normally, I wouldn't want to spend so much, but because I can get everything at half off, I feel silly not to take advantage of it. I'll probably end up going with the 2 Infiniti's though. I like being able to stick my 2 wimpy 6"'s through my rear window so that I can listen to music while I'm laying in the bed of my truck. I wouldn't be able to do that if I got the custom box, but i can't get the Alpine type R's unless I get the custom box, and I think I would regret not doing more than just a single 10" sub.

I hear ya about having moods like that...
I like Infinity's subs too, great SQ. They have a nice warm bass that still sounds good at lower volumes. Been thinking about the References or some Image Dynamics IDQs.

Well, I stopped by Circuit City after work today and ended up getting 2 Infinit 10" subs, and a 420 watt MTX amplifier. It's not going to bust any windows, but hopefully it should give me a nice, balanced system. I let you know how it sounds, hopefully I'll have everything installed either Wednesday or Thursday. Can't wait!
TF,
I just installed my 160 amp alt. yesterday. It works great, heres the link.

TF,
When I received my new alt the other day it came with a coupon for 5% off any order over $100. And 10% off $200 or more.
I know it's not much but it's better than nothing.
Let me know if you need it. I could fax it over.

Not that i know of.
The first time i changed my alt. (stock to a 100 amp) I had to grind alittle portion of my bracket. But that only took me about 5 min.
This new 160 amp alt. fit like a glove!
