Brake pads...

Hey, sorry if this has been covered a million times or anything of the like, but I don't have time to search right now... If I overlooked something, please point me in the right direction...

a buddy of mine just got a '93 XLT, 302 auto, Reg. Cab SW... and it's in need of new brake pads... Just curious what you guys might recommend. He's not going to be doing any auto-x, just looking for something that'll last...

Also, you guys have anything to watch out for on these years? I had a '92 Reg. Cab Flareside, 302 auto, but never had any problems with mine...

and one other thing... Why don't you guys complain? Your forum doesn't have a picture like the Lightnings, King Ranches, Harley's, etc...

man wish there was a forum for XLT Sports...

thanks...

We complained a little but pre 97' covers a lot of models, what picture do you put up?
I have a 92 also, very high mileage, very few problems. Dirty throttle body, rust hole in gas tank, nothing special.

The brakes on these trucks are somewhat undersized. They need all the help they can get. I'm using Performance Friction Z pads. THEY WORK. Unfortunately they are very dirty and the crud doesn't clean off the wheels very well. Next time around, I'm going to try Hawk Brake HP Plus pads, comparable performance, a lot less dust.

In both cases these are their top of the line street performance pad, anything more agressive tends to need too much heat for use on the street.

I have top of the line Raybestos pads, dont remember what they where called, but they are ceramic and have very very little dust. they stop way better than the cheap $20 pads i had before too.

Hmmm... 1947 was the first "F Series" right? So, how about a picture of a '47? Good year too...
