Electric Fan help

I'm preparing to install my Troyer Performance dual 14" fans but the directions are for post 97 F150's, everything is pretty much the same except when it comes to finding a good ignition source to splice into and also a source on the a/c to tap into to have one of the fans turn on when the a/c is turned on. In the directions it has you tap into the power distribution box some where for the igniton, would this be the same for me? If you could let me know what color wires to tap into that would be perfect.

Also in the directions it says to put the temp probes close to the water inlet, does anyone know if this is referring to where we actually fill up the radiator (cap?) or one of the hoses.(lower or upper?)

I'll call Troyer Perf. tomorrow since they aren't open on weekends but I wanted to get a jump on this today.

I don't have a schematic for the '96, but yeah, the power dist box is where you want to go. Just use a test light, and see which ones are live when the key is on (I prefer to wire electric fans through the battery, because they should be able to come on whenever the engine is too hot, rather than only when the key is on, but it's your choice).

The water inlet they are referring to is the upper radiator hose.

Take care,
~Chris

PS Tell Ricer John to get a REAL car.

OK gotcha!

The first fan is going to be set to turn on at about 10 degrees hotter then the T-Stat so about 105 it will turn on, the second is set to turn on at about 10-15 degrees hotter then the first and if it isn't on by the time I turn on the a/c then it will turn on with the a/c. (even though I hardly ever use it)

I hope you mean 205.

That sounds exactly the way the SN95 Mustangs are controlled.

hehe ya 205...all that methanol I breathed last night did wonders....I've got all the stock crap out of the way, including a few knuckles but that was expected, I took off work tomorrow so hopefully all should be well. I found plenty of hot wires to splice into under the distribution box....I'm going for the trailer brake one since I never tow anyways.
