Oil Leaking..Somewhere

I have an oil leak somewhere. I cleaned the pan and dried it all off. Whole bottom side was dry. Drive my F150 1/2 mile and crawled back under. Sure enough, oil! Back of the engine and above the pan. I can see it coming down from what appears to be head gasket area. I'm not sure if that's possible as the truck runs fine and has no performance issues. Could this happen? What about it leaking at the intake, is that possible? Having a hard time traking down what needs to fixed. Really would hate to tear heads off...

Could be one of several things, but most likely from what you are descibing, sounds like valve cover gaskets. Degrease the entire engine, then run it and check it. I checked your profile and since your truck is a '90, it is probably high mileage. Two know leakers in almost every truck over 100k, rear main seal and valve cover gaskets.

Did the rear main already when I did the clutch about 2 months ago..I'll be pulling the valve covers this evening just in case it's there. If so, easy enough fix. Thanks..Let ya know..

Sounds like intake mainifold to me, that is sometimes a problem area. I also did a rear seal but it didn't fix it, had to drop the trans and drive on a repair sleeve to fix a scratch on the seal mating surface, then a new seal and that took care of it. Hope its just a valve cover gasket though
