Re-Did my intakes

gotta love speed density!

The plan - more air
set up: with a lever and pully I am able to lift the intakes above the front bumper when it rains ect.

They are at the same angle and height now. I took that before i did final touches!

Any thoughts/suggestions/comments?

Pete

Thumbs down

Pete95xl , don't take this the wrong way but in my opinion that looks rediculous, you might try grabbing your extra air through the grill.

Sorry but I do agree. The first speed bump, dip, pot-hole you take the wrong way and they are toast, why not just relocate them on the side's of radiator behind the grill, if you get a billet grill it will open up that gap on the side's the stock grill making for a good spot to get more air induction.

there isn't any way for me to get anything through the grill. my rad is in the way completely. do you have one of these year trucks? if so, do you have room in your grill?

you have to realize too, that this is just for when it's at the track. It is hooked up to a lever/pully that allows me to retract them into the bumper area so you can't see it.

I don't have Speed Density but yes I do have room on the sides of the radiator to put cones like that, might take a little fancy red neck fabrication though.

For track use then that sound's like a good idea, to bad you don't have those bumpers with the holes in the center so you could just count them there.

Pete95XL , I wasn't trying to put your mod down , was just giving my opinion. Yes my truck is a white 95 f150 but mine has mass air. I to tried a ram air type set up on my pickup by re routing the air scoop thats under the hood to underneath the bumper. I ran it that way for a couple of days and it just seemed to impracticle.

What I finally ended up doing was drilling some 1" holes at specific locations on the airbox instead of going with an open element air filter, that way there would be some sort of heat shield around the K&N filter.

Sorry I must have misread your post, was just ASsuming it was for street use.

p.s. no slam intended.

Mine is speed density, 92 f150, 302 and there is a little room to put them behind the grill but not much, maybe not for two anyway. But for track use they will probably be fine. I would be intrested to know if there is a big difference between having them down and putting them up. Maybe at the track you can try it both ways and report the results. Be intresting to know.
I run a FIPK by the way and got a little more power and a lot better fuel economy

Hey, no worries man. I asked for opinions on it. I don't have room behind my rad or at the sides either.

I'm working on a new thing that will be a bit more pratical and I'll have pics tomorrow!

lol I know, I know. I've got some work to do on it still.

I had to jet earlier there, sorry about that.

lovemytruck, I noticed a little bit on the highway when towing a trailer up a hill.

to be honest, I doubt it would make a difference on my track times. I figured it was worth a shot.
