Just shoot me..help..part II..
Had code read a few months ago...PIP sensor..
Truck quit running tonight while driving. I'm sure it's ignition related. Does anyone have experience with Ignition Module? Should that be the obvious problem or should look at say voltage regulator or other. Seemed to act up after driving awhile..heated up, Thanks guy's

A typical scenario when the TFI is on it's way out will be you leave home, drive for a while, and decide to get gas. You pull in, shut it off, pump your gas, and then it won't start. You fiddle with it for 25 minutes, and it suddenly starts, making you think you did something brilliant, when in fact it just cooled down.
The TFI module is subjective to heat, especially as it ages. If you can start it again, do so, and use a hair dryer to blow hot air near the module. If the engine kills after a few minutes, the TFI is bad.
Take care,
~Chris

Just wondering, as my '95 is firewall mounted with a heat sink attached.

All seems ok on the truck. No problems driving and towing the boat this weekend. My module was remote mounted, so ended up being real easy to replace, except I had to grind a socket down to fit in the holes for the module.
Thanks again Chris.

AGGGHH,
Driving home today..same problem, just shut off. Couldn't get the truck started for about 20 minutes. Why is this happening? I'm back to thinking it's something to do with the PIP sensor. That's what the code showed several months ago. Does anyone have experience with PIP sensor or have any input?
Could a bad PIP (stator) cause the thing to just shut down?
BTW , I found a crack in the vacuum line going to the a/c damper.
The a/c would stop blowing through the vents when the engine was under a load. Wonder if that can be related. Thanks, Ron

I'm going to have to think about this one a little bit, but it sounds like your module burned out. I haven't replaced a remote monted TFI in a long time, but I'm pretty sure you're supposed to use dielectric grease no matter where it's mounted. If you didn't, that could be your problem. I need to do some thinking on this one.
Hmmmmm

Yes, I did apply the dielectric grease. Ran great (in really Hot weather) all weekend, then died twice yesterday. I have the old module, so if (when) it dies again I'll try to swap to see if it runs.
I wish I knew more about the "Profile Ignition Pickup" that's what the code came back several months ago. Could it be in my distributor?
