Help me understand my rear end

I don't have any problems with the rear end, but I do have a couple questions about how it acts. It's the stock 3.55 non limited slip rear end. That means I should have a real embarassing one tire fire going on at stop lights. But if I power break it, it instantly lights both tires up and leaves two nice tread marks across the intersection (that's when I let off), but if I just gas it without power breaking it, then I only get the right side going. Can anybody explain to me what might cause this. I am 100% sure that I don't have limited slip, and I have owned the vehicle since it was brand new, so I know that nothing aftermarket was thrown in there.

the reason only one tire spins is that the other tire has more traction. when you apply the brakes it equals out the force on the axles they both spin. I maybe wrong but i think that is why it spinning both on a power brake.

I can light both 31inch wheels up and I have a 3:31 NON-LS also.

Haven't tried it yet on my new BFG's.

maybe you are dragging the left across the street (skidding), and the right side is laying rubber the traditional way (spinning)
Heh, Heh heh
dood, i have no idea, but if you need to lay down the rubber, you might want to go big and get yourself some gears and a l/s

Huh?

I'm not sure how a rear end works exactly but I know I can light up both 31x10.50's

The reason you light up both when power braking is that the brakes applied distributes the power evenly to both wheels instead of it going the path of least resistance (or traction). Once you have them both going, they have equal traction, or lack thereof, and continue to spin together. Have you noticed if one streak is a little longer or shorter than the other?
