hot water thottle body hose

i was on anouther ford page today and they are talking about removing the water line that goes to your throttle body on the basis that it will give you a colder denser charge a bit of power. anyone tried it. ??

If your throttle body has a built in idle air control valve that might cause problems because it uses the coolant temp to adjust the valve, i don't know what years ford used that though. Other than that i don't see any problem with doing it in the summer, but if it's below 40 degrees or so you might have icing problems.

i just read your old thread on this, How does it trick the engine into thinking the air is colder than it really is? the throttle body is way after the mass air meter. unless it throws off the calculations of the meter, because the meter is planning on the air heating up a bit.

I guess i will have to give it a try, and see i get really good MPG so i will have to watch it.

did you fix it back to stock? ifso did you notice when you did?

MX- it doesn't trick the truck into thinking the air is cold, it actually makes it colder because you don't have hot coolant in the throttle body.

yes i know that the air is going to be colder, but i was wondering how the gas milage is going to be worse.

if the computer is planning on the temprature being raised a set amount once it gets to the throttle body and the air does not get cooler what does that do to the computer settings

I only ping on really bad inclines and cheap gas, i have advanced the timing abit never had a problem until i did that.
