I used to own a 1996 F-150 with the 351 V-8. I miss the truck and I'm getting excited about the '04 model coming up.

For the life of me, I can't remember how much hp and torque the stock engine came with. Does any one else know?

I have the same engine and I believe the power to be rated at 210 HP and 315 TQ. I used to have a 95 302 and I can definitely tell the power difference between the 2.

The 04 sounds like a beast, my brother has the 02 and it is strong.

 

I have the 302 (wish I had the 351), but those peak power figures given by drm7 are correct. Yeah, the new 3V 5.4 does sound pretty awesome, although I'm not sure why it doesn't have more power. I mean the Navigator engine currently has 300 hp and 360 tq I believe by means of aluminum heads. I would think adding a third valve plus variable cam timing in addition to having aluminum heads would make in excess of 300 hp, but maybe it makes for flatter tq curves instead? Any ways, 300 hp still sounds great to me!
