Talking Got it back together

Well I finally got around to finishin the water pump job I started a week ago. Went ahead and replaced hoses and also added the march underdrive pulleys and a gatorback belt and fixed a power steering hose leak I've had for a while. The pulleys don't make a lotta difference on my truck, a little more pull in the mid-range, probably because its able to turn up the rpms a little quicker. Still though, anything remotely noticeable for $86 aint to bad. The gatorback belt, big difference, truck runs quiter with no belt noise like I used to have
I ordered an F.I.P.K. for my truck this mornin along with a filter relocation kit and k&n oil filter, guess that'll be next weekends project.
Ceramic coated headers and dual exhaust commin in about 2-3wks

ccnseven,

My guess is that once you get your K&N and headers installed, the pulleys will be of much more value to you. The pulleys help your truck to rev much easier, but if you don't have any top end, it ain't gonna do much. Good luck with that!

I know my truck used ot have no top end until I went with my true dual setup, and now the truck pulls pretty damn hard.

Glad to hear you like your gatorback belt, mine is so nice, there is no noise at all from it.

The headers are ceramic, hope I don't have a rust problem or I'm gonna be pissed. I guess I expected a little more from the pulleys than I got from some of you guys feedback, but I have the opposite situation than most. I have put a lot into my engine a couple years ago, its bored, balanced, heads have been ported, chromolly rings, crane cam and all the rest of it, but I am still running the stock timing, a/f ratio, blah, blah. Just now gettin the time to do the bolt on mods that really allow ported heads to beath and a beefy cam to do its job. I am saving the superchip for last so I only have to do one chip burn, then I imagine it'll run as hard as I want.

BTW, need advise on the mufflers to use when I put my headers on, I'm gonna go with all new exhaust. Flowmasters are to loud I think, don't want any cab drone. I currently have mustang gt mufflers and they soun sweet They are goin bad though and need replacing. I hear good from yall about magnaflow, don't know what to put under there.

suggestions?

Maybe my hearing must be going bad or something...but I have the loudest Flowmaster muffler available (along with headers, high flow cat, 3" piping, dual turndowns, and an almost complete induction system to boot) and my exhaust system is just barely satisfactory to my tastes (which are the louder the better!). But supposedly the Flowmaster Delta series 70 muffler I think isn't even supposed to be that loud. Only at WOT I think. But any ways, if you're gonna go that route, you might as well go with the Magnaflows for better performance supposedly. Personally, I can't testify to any performance characteristics of the Magnaflow since I've never had one on my truck, but others say it's a good muffler. I guess the point I'm trying to make is that you shouldn't rule out Flowmaster just because it's "too loud" since they make several variations, sizes, and models with different sound characteristics to suit your tastes. Whatever you end up choosing, hope you like it!

My cat has been gone for a long time, actually it looks like its there, but its just an empty shell. Can you believe a real muffler shop did it for me It does create a bit of drone though
