88 F-150 Tranny?

Crazy thought!

Would it be crazy for me
to try and rebuild my
5spd Mazda manual tranny
myself??

Considering i get a manual
and have some people to
help me do it...

Thanks

There a lot easier to rebuild than an automatic. If you or your friends have never had a tranny apart before i wouldn't recommend it. But if you sort of know what your doing and you won't need the truck for a few days then go for it. Remember you will need a press and a good set of feeler gauges.

Mom could never get me to eat my liver - - I kept telling her, "I don't eat filters!"

I don't open up transmissions, either

Can you say, "junkyard?"

Even if you have to in&out a couple of gearboxes to find a good one, it's prolly still less work than rebuilding yours as a first-timer, then doing it again, or going to the junkyard in the end anyway -
