had my codes checked today

Figured what the heck, its free, so I took my truck to a parts dealer today and had them run a scan for codes. One code came up that said the EGR isn't working properly, which was no surprise since my dad blocked it off years ago. What did surprise me were the codes that said there were problems with the throttle position sensor and idle control valve.

Where exactly is the TPS, and what could be wrong with it? As for the IAC, could it just need cleaning?

The tps is on the throttle body next to the linkage. The tps senses movment from the throttle body linkage and sends a signal. I think thats right

Yeah, I believe you're right. From what I understand the TPS tells the computer what position the throttle is in, so the computer can adjust fuel delivery and spark accordingly. Just wasn't sure where it was though, thanks!

I had my buddy do it too. My truck came up with the same code.. Something about the throttle position sensor.
