I got those prices from Summit Racing. I really would love to have that GT-40P/ Edelbrock combo, however my dad simply wont let me dive that deep into the engine. When I leave home next year for college, sure I will probably do stuff like that; however, until then I simply can't. He said that the Ford Racing valve covers looked great, and that he would let me slap those on, so I said while I'm doing that, I will order the Crane 1.7 Roller Rockers and put those on at the same time as I do the valve covers. And also since I have ot remove the upper intake manifold, I would just buy someone's used one, and get it powdercoated balck to match the vavlve covers. Maybe I would even try to put a stock 99-03 Lightning Throttle body on the manifold while I am at it, maybe I will leave it alone, I just havent made my mind up yet.
I just made a pretty big purchase by buying a Craftsman 30 gallon 6hp air compressor, and all the stuff to go with it, which came out to like $550. But it was well worth it, I got a Craftsman 3/8" impact wrench, Craftsman 3/8" ratchet, and some other stuff for free with the compressor. I also bought 100' of hose, and my parents bough this kit from Sams. Its not the highest quality stuff that exists, I think the brand is like Dapc ( or something) but I got a 1/2" impact wrench, another ratchet, air chisel and a grinder like a Dremel. Also got a 9 piece 3/8" impact socket set, and 12 piece 1/2" impact socket set. It is so easy now to break loose bolts on stuff now. I helped my friend install some stuff on his truck the other day, and he was battling with bolts on his leaf springs, and I pulled out the 1/2" ratchet, and it pulled em off os easy. I think this was the best stuff I could have ever bought for working on vehicles. Ill get some pics later.
Well enough of that, the reason is I just dont have enough money right now, so I think I am just goign to do like I above mentioned, and proably next year I will buy everything else thta I want, and get a Crane cam to go along with it.

ccnseven,

Which crane cam do you have in your truck? I have the crane cams compucam, but it seems to be a pretty mild cam. I was looking to see if they've added any new cams to their lineup for my truck and I see something, but it says that it isn't recommended for vehicles with more than a couple minor mods...not really the way I want to go. I was just curious, maybe the bulk of the power will come when I finally get my aluminum cylinder heads.

Hey Beastie,

That's cool, I understand about the money thing. If it weren't for the fact I got a loan to rebuild my truck, it would take me several years to save up and do it. I set a $7000 budget and have just spent the last of it for the engine, trans, and a whole slew of pieces parts and I still have the rear end to do yet. Building tough, bad and fast ain't cheap!!! Plus it all takes a hell of a lot longer to finish than you initially think it will (that working for a living thing puts a hamper on progress, LOL!) Be patient, good things come to those who wait. Just keep doing what you're doing, buy parts that work with your final combination and one day when it's all done you will have a big s**t eatin' grin on your face when you mash the pedal in the floor.

BTW, while Summit has good prices on some things, they are way too high on others, always pays to shop around!

Thansk for the advice, and I usually shop around on everything I buy to get the best deal, but I just needed some quick numbers, and Summit popped into my head.
