Thumbs up What would you pay for a truck like mine

Ford has a nice 03SCREW I am lookign at here localy. I got a family now so the crew cab is such more accessable. My truck just got repainted, I also would let the GT40 heads and 92 Shortblock go with it since these were put on standby at time of rebuild? I am thinking with all that and the trucks current mods I should get about 10.5k. Any opinions on my rational?

10.5K for an 8 year old truck I don't think you can get that for it thats more than what KBB says mine truck is worth on trade in and its a 2000 modle.

This is what I see for a third party sale off of KBB
KBB for 95 F150
Yes I know the engine modifications don't matter much in the case of the average buyer but for someone who is looking a great deal on a performace 4x4 with the luxury of a the Eddie Bauer package I think 10,500 is a respectable asking price. Its only 1500 over what KBB says. The blower alone was over 3000 not to mention an extra set of heads, shortblock, the fuel injection, MSD ignition, etc, etc

Forcefd, would you sell any of the mods off your truck, like the headers or the rr?

Right now I really need to see how it will sell as is. I got some people that maybe seroius buyers, but if they only want a stock truck then yes I may part out everything back to stock and sell it for about 9. I am moving to AL in June so the less stuff I have to move aorund the better. BUT if I don't get any buyers then I will just keep it and buy something maybe later

See that's the thing about modifications. First, you have to find a buyer who will purchase a vehicle with mods in general. Then you gotta find someone who likes the specific mods you did. This is in addition to the already difficult task of finding someone who wants a vehicle in the configuration you're selling. You may find somebody who wants it, but itll be a needle in a hay stack. You remove the mods, it has a wider appeal.

Sorry to intrude on your post Forcefd, but what kind of 1.7rr do you have, and do you still have the stock valve covers, and if so were there any problems with them at all?

Yeah, it's tough selling a truck (or any vehicle) that you've invested a lot of money into. I've put at least 10 grand into my truck, not including the amount I paid for it originally. However, my truck only blue books for about $4500. For this reason, it'll be a long time before I think about selling my truck. My suggesion would be to try and restore your truck to stock as much as possible, and then sell the aftermarket products individually. I think you'll find it much easier to sell your truck at a reasonable price to someone, and I'm sure there's a good market for aftermarket parts on e-bay or even here. Selling a truck costs time and money, so the shorter it takes to sell a truck the better off you are. As much as I'm into customizing my vehicle and improving it, I look to buy trucks that are as stock as possible, for several reasons. First, most of the fun of customizing a truck is picking out the parts and the anticipation of getting them installed. Having all that done takes a lof of the fun out it. Secondly, the aftermarket parts you have might not be the parts someone else would choose, so they could be paying for something they don't want. Third, if someone has a blown, lifted 4x4, chances are they've abused it a little. Wear and tear always decreases the value of a vehicle and makes it harder to sell. It doesn't matter what your truck really went through. All that matters is how your truck looks and runs and the impression the potential buyer has at the time of purchase. Making it as presentable as possible never hurts.

Lastly, things like exhaust and K&N will probably help your truck sell. I think these mods. are common and mild enough that most people would like to have these any ways, and they don't necassarily indicate a street racer. I know when I bought my truck, the K&N (although it was only a replacement filter at the time), the exhaust and the headers were a strong selling point with me, but then again, I was gonna put all that stuff on any ways. Besides, it would probably be pretty hard to sell a used exhaust system, but who knows? Any ways, these are just my opinions.

Hey thanks. Although that compliment really goes to the wife. She is a OH58 pilot (SCOUT). She is the first female officer to have been inducted into GARRY OWEN! Yep she is my little *** kicker! I have since hung up my old black beret (those still active were a tan beret) for a life of playing with gadgets and digits in the Signal Corps. Actually her 1SG really wants it so I may have a buyer already. She was in D troop now she is in E as the XO! Hopefully we will be leaving the Hood for Alabama for the ADV CRS/ 6 month party!

All good opinions .I guess I am fortunate enough to be in the the position of being able to buy new or stay with what I got. Just about all these parts were hand me downs from the Mustang. All I ever wanted really was better towing power for when I was towing the boat or the stang. Beastie my 1.7rr are Cranes. I had no issues at all when I installed them with the stock valve covers. Other than the fact I had to go back one time to tighten them after I fired it up after install.
