Engine Coolant Temp Sensor

'89 F150 6-4.9L

When the truck is cold (winter or summer) is chugs, sputters, stalls while accelerating from low to high rpm. As the truck warms up it gets better. My brother (hey J) said it might be the coolant temp sensor. My Chiltons doesn't pinpoint the location.

A. Where is it?
B. Could this be the problem?

Thanks

Slug

It could be the problem, might not be. I have no idea where the temp sensor is, but I have seen many GM engines(recent models) go to hell when the temp sensors go bad. I know this doesn't help much but hopefully a little. I hate chiltons manuals, IMHO Haynes are more helpful.
