Question Autometer Gauge Pods

I have 3 autometer sport comp series 2 5/8" gauges, oil pressure, water temp and trans temp. I want to move them up to the door post in a molded gauge cluster like you see in a lot of mustangs. I called autometer and they do not make one specific for my truck, 92 f150, but many people have found that clusters for other auto's will work perfectly, like some mustang clusters will work in some chevy auto's. Has anyone tried this on an f150 and if so what worked? Man I think that would be cool to have the gauges in an "a pillar" on the door post
Any ideas

Hey pkrwud, looks nice. I saw the 2 gauge console on autometers web site but what I want is a 3 gauge console on the door post, might have to split em up like you did. You think of paintin the pillar console to match the door trim? Sure would look custom if you did

It's been like that for at least 3 years, i'm used to it. I don't think you're gonna like it with 3, though. It's alot less room than you think it is.

good luck, though!

The single pillar pod from Autometer is the only one to hold 2-5/8" gauges ( and another number for a single 2-1/16" ).

The dual and tripples Autometer pods are 2-1/16"

Maybe looking at the low tech pod they might have something, but I have only seen these in Ls

Just curious, Chris, on how you attached the pillar mount to the A Pillar? Double sided tape, glue, etc? My 2 guage Autometer a pillar mount did not come with any instructions, or mounting kit. How should I go about mounting it? Thanks

mine came with 4 little screws that attach the pod to the pillar. you have to drill the hole on the pod and pillar, then put in the 4 srews

Similar to Donate's, each of mine came with 4 plastic doo-hicky wannabe screws. If you look closely at the corners of them, you can kinda see them.

Found them.

Ford Racing has a part number if you have not tried this already.

M-17555-T200.
1987-96 F-Series Truck Dual Gauge Pillar Pod

www.oemfordparts.com is a Ford racing auth reseller, and has the dual pod for $ 32.00.

I was looking for another part, and stumbled across this one.
Just wanted to pass on a possiable fix for the earlier model year Pillar pod.

I found the 2 5/8" dual pod by calling autometer, it's the 3 gauge pod for 2 5/8" gauges that I really want, guess I could buy the double and a single and put em together

i was going to originally do this to my truck but after i got the pods and you put them on the pillar, you really cant see the top-most gauge too clearly. the angle youre at just doesnt let you get a good look at the needle. i dont know, maybe its just me, give it a shot and see if you like it.
