Weird Idle Return
Weird Idle Return
I have a weird idle return after driving the truck. If I push the clutch in and come to a rest at a stop light, the RPM's will idle at about 1100 or so for a little while then slowly drop to about 800 ish or less, but much lower than the 1100. What causes this. It does not matter if the truck has been driven 1 mile or 1000 miles.

I know this can't be good for gas mileage.
Also got a recall from Ford, my 1993 F150 has not had the fuel pressure regulator replaced yet. Anyone know what the problem was with them?
Thanks,
Justin

The fuel, pump thing was a different problem, different recall. I seem to remember something about diaphragm failures. Don't remember if it was a safety or an emissions thing though, maybe both.

I think the ignition modules were a lawsuit not a recall, I got the same thing. As for the fuel pressure regulator, the diaphram was failing and pushing fuel into the vaccume system. As for your problem, you might want to try and clean your idle control valve. Sometimes carbon can build up.

It shouldn't be a problem. I think it is a percaution to make sure your brakes work their best even when your rpms are down.
I may be wrong, but thought I would throw my 2 cents in there.
