86 F150 2BBL throttle body rebuild

On my 86 F150, the butterfly valves became sticky and would not snap shut, Ford told me they were nonrebuildable, so I set out to prove them wrong. And I did, I took the valves off the shaft took off the old O-rings, replaced them with #47 O-rings from Lowe's, and put it back together with some vasoline. Works like new. $10.00 for O-rings, brake cleaner, and a jar of vasoline shure beats $428 for a new TB

Cool, usually it's the bushings that go bad in throttle bodies and those aren't replaceable. Can't argue with success though, if replacing the o-rings worked you saved a lot of money.

So you own a '86 F150 also. I have one that I have been wanting some ideas about spiffing up the appearance. Right now the look is original, the same as when I got brand new in '86.
