radiator, leaking, fix or replace???

93 f-50, the ol plastic radiator is leaking out both sides, I had a price of fixing it for 60.00 or replacement for 160.00 I just wondered if you guys had any luck repairing those things.

Thanks.

If it was my truck, I would bite the bullet and replace the radiator. The plastic on the radiators usually gets brittle and tends to crack easily when they get old. Consider the age of the radiator, I would also be concerned about the radiator core and its condition.

You say its leaking on the sides, do you mean where the tankss are crimped on? I'd just replace it. I don't think I'd trust a repaired radiator, I'd just be nervous about it.

I'd go for a new heavy duty one

Mine recently started seeping on the input side. I took it out and had new seals put in and recrimped. A new one is more $$$ but less wait. In my case it didn't matter as I had another vehicle to use.

The shop I took mine to inspects it with the tanks off, and if it's bad they will recommend a new one. Mine was flowing fine, and no obstruction problems, so I chose to just redo the seals.
