immigration issues are a joke.

go to every home depot and arrest the people that pick the people up in the parking lot.

then start arresting the owners of companies that hire them.

that is a start, if you really want to make a change.

way to many people want to complain or just dont care enough to do anything about it.

start a grass roots program to put pressure on home depot to police the parking lots. ask you yard service to see employment forms. then start asking the same for the kitchen crew in your favorite restaurants.

all can be a start that does not require a politician

Imagine the ***** storm when people have to start paying what it actually COSTS for groceries? People think low prices are a RIGHT - so the government goes in and subsidizes Farming to keep prices low.

The rub is, the government taxes more to lower prices for things. That doesn't make sense but the vast majority simply do not care. Here's an example -off the top of my head - of what I mean.

An ear of corn costs $1 at the grocery. Cool.

An ear of corn costs $3 to actually get to market.

The government takes $5 in taxes and through its inefficiency has about $2 left (after paying adminsistrators) and gives that to the the farmer so he can re-coup his costs.

That $1 ear of corn costs us $6 in total. If the government did NOT take our $5, we'd be "OUTRAGED" at paying $3 for an ear of corn!!!! OMG!!!WTF???OHNOES!!!BBQ!!111

Yet paying that $3 would be half what it's REALLY costing us.

People do not think strategically - we do not care about things we cannot see.

Make any sense? The way I'm trying to articulate my point?

When the .gov cracks down on illegal workers, builders, gardeners, farmers, etc have to actually PAY workers a decent wage. That drives up prices. People hate that- even if it's better for the nation.

Okay, hold on. Farms genuinely need the subsidies to even keep them operating. I know people with farms, and without market controls, farming isn't even financially viable anymore. Without them, the market would get flooded with certain goods at stupid low prices, which would force farmers out of business, then we'd have no food. As stupid and leftist as that may sound, I've had it explained to me that way by folks actually receiving the subsidies.

It works both ways. For those that the gov't is artificially lowering the prices on, I think it should stop. But then, some families can't afford $5 potatoes. It's food stamps ON TOP of food stamps. But the farm subsidies are one thing I don't have as much of a problem with. However, the gubmint is still run by incompetent retards that burn 70% of every dollar, so that's still an issue.

The democrats like illegal aliens because they see them as future demo voters and some see it as humanitarian to let all of them in the country.

Many Republicans see them as cheap labor. But they are only cheap to the businesses. They cost the taxpayers more than they do the businesses in labor due to all of the social welfare programs and the education, etc. The businesses can't get people to work the jobs the illegals do because our social welfare state had made it so you can live comfortably by not working instead of doing those farm jobs like many used to do.

Our country is rocketing down the path to socialism. It has been headed that way but under the current administration, we are rocketing. We are doomed to a socialistic society. Soon we will be living in tiny homes or apts and driving smart cars because we can't afford anything else like Europe.

Problem as I see is, we the collective don't have the stomach to do what needs to be done.

The tree is parched- in fact, it is so dry, it is seasoned. I'll leave it at that.

That's my point exactly. Government burdens farms with fees/taxes/wages, etc, - which drives up the cost of goods. Instead of letting the market work, the government takes tax dollars, keeps/loses some of the money due to inefficencies, and gives the rest back as a subsidy. Would be far-better for all if the customer paid directly to the farmer. Make sense?

Farms do not need subsidies - the government needs to stop interfering in the market, abolish regulations of seeds - just to name one thing - and let things happen as they happen.

If folks cannot afford food prices, let them work harder to earn more money, or grow their own maybe?
