"PolitiFact" Is Politi'False'

http://www.weeklystandard.com/blogs/...ue_696223.html

That's what happens, I guess, when your research is colored by your democratic political views.

It was common knowledge that Jeep had plans to build in China.

I still feel the whole election process was rigged. I know of very few that actually voted for our Hypocrite in Chief.

not like I expect the left media "news" outlets to be correct, but the URLs above do not quite line up to Romney was not using hyperbole to elicit an action of voting for him over the left.

The quote attributed to Romney
"I saw a story today that one of the great manufacturers in this state Jeep — now owned by the Italians — is thinking of moving all production to China"

The Reuters article "We expect production of around 100,000 Jeeps per year which is expandable to 200,000".
- Also note the production could start in 18 months, so that looks to be lined up with the 2015 MY.

So if China sales ramp up beyond the low totals of today that they are seeing now ( 60K units in total for all 3 major lines ) to 300K by MY 2015, this would make sense ( on even distribution ) that Jeep would need ~ 100K units for the 2015 MY in China, to service just the China sales numbers.

My reading of what is in front of me, tells me this is for new market demand and not Jeep moving production from OH to China.
- Again, just from the Reuters article and comparing it to the quote attributed to Romney.

Looks like the Weekly Standard is using the same headline grabbing method the MSM uses with headlines of "PolitiFact's 'Lie of the Year' Turns Out to Be True".

Is it at the cost of new American jobs, sure it could be stated that way, but that is inline with Boeing union members claiming that new jobs in a right to work state are taking jobs from union members ( like they have said all along with Boeing expansion ).

You're correct SS. I went back and watched his actual speech and Romney did say, "all production to China". Whether he mis-spoke and intended to say 'some', who knows. The problem people have with moving any production to China is obviously Chrysler was given a bailout with taxpayer money and are turning their backs on those workers. We all know the bailouts were union payoffs for votes, but moving any of that production is ironic.

Some / All; don't know if one was said versus the other, if it would make it any less hyperbole.

This is what I was getting at with the Boeing union analogy.

New jobs being created in a different location, is not moving jobs from another.

Just like the Boeing union heads were calling new jobs in a right to work state taking jobs from unions members.
Guess they felt all the jobs the company ever creates belong to the union, and should be in non right to work states.

I will agree the new Jeep jobs could have been new American jobs, but that does not make them jobs that are being moved to China.
These are positions that never existed before, how can they be moved from the US if this is the case.
We are not talking about unification theory here, something that was never around before is not moved when it is created in a given area.

The Weekly Standard is using the tactics that the MSM uses all the time, to create an emotional reaction. That does not make it right, it is lowering themselves to the same place as the MSM.
We all know how highly regarded the MSM is to people with an IQ higher than 75. I wish they would not do stuff like this to fill space.

A big part of the problem is China places huge tariffs (what we used to do years ago) on imported autos. And as long as we have internationalists in the White House, we're going to keep seeing job losses here.
