If this is true, it explains a lot.

I've seen a few other articles covering Tagg Romney's interview about how his dad did not want to be president.

IMO, the son was sensitive to his dad's concerns about the disruptions it would cause their family, the attacks they would have to endure, the reality of the task they faced if he won, etc....

So, basically, Romney was sane and knew being president would be one huge task, and he was concerned about taking it on.

Yet, he DID run (twice), so despite his private concerns, on balance he wanted to be president, and acted accordingly.

Ultimately, his motivation for running was to help his country. He has no need to enhance his future speaking fees, increase his future book advances and royalties, ensure a cushy government retirement, and see how much golf and vacations he could get in during the next 4 - 8 years.

So the things that might make some people WANT to be president had no appeal to Romney.

So much for fact checking these days,

Romney, a former Massachusetts governor and multi-billionaire businessman

15 seconds on Bing showed his net worth to be $190-$250 million. I lived in France for a while and if my memory is correct this is their MSNBC equivalent.

That's almost as bad as the story I read on yahoo yesterday that refereed to Porsche as an Italian company.
