The Obamacare layoffs start

I think with this, the economy will go even farther into the tank and the deficit will get far worse.

I just read an article saying thousands of doctors are leaving their practices once obama care goes into effect. They will take on thousands of new patients and won't get paid. Most are already cutting back the ammount of patients they see currently. There is also a current shortage of doctors and it will progressively get worse in the years coming because it just isn't worth it anymore. 63% of current doctors said they would NOT recommend being a doctor to a family member or anybody intereted in becoming one. Scary, because the people who voted for him were praising how healthcare would benefit. My wife works for a Hospital corporation and they fear the day this goes into affect, our healthcare sytem is in for BIG trouble.

I know people on medicare that are unable to find a new doctor. They are told that they have filled their quota of medicare patients for the next few months. Some of the "doc in a box" clinics do not take medicare at all. From what I am told that they get paid for their services, I don't blame them.

I had the same Dr. for the last 15 years, and he closed his practice last summer. He said he had planned on working another 5-6 years, but with the passage of Obamacare, he decided to go ahead and retire.

Let's see, more people demanding care with fewer Dr.'s. Yeah, that's gonna work out real well.

We asked for it.

Mine did the exact same thing. I had been going to him for 20 years. Definitely miss him as the others around here are just part of large doctor groups and just want to shovel the patients through.

You mean to tell me that a health care law that hires 20,000 IRS agents and 0 doctors won't provide better access to medical services?

just wait. You guys will become like Canada's health care system. you will have to wait 3+ weeks to get in to see your family doctor. Your family doctor will speak very broken english and most likely be from south africa. You will break your arm or some other VERY painful injury that is not life threatening and you will spend 6-8 hours at the emergency room in the hospital. Oh also don't get sick on the weekend and go to the hospital. You wont see a doctor till the beginning of the work week. If it is something serious there is a good chance you will be dead by Monday.

True story.

I really shouldn't be laughing. I'm in my mid 30's and will have to self doctor myself in 10 years. Maybe I can train my chocolate lab to perform cancer surgery or other treatments

Although nothing to do with Obamacare, here are some more jobs lost. Not current jobs, but future jobs.

Now we need to watch for stagflation to start. We have had the Fed doing all it can to keep the economy rolling, including throwing a crap load of money out there. This can be seen by the inflation in certain sectors like food. Now with this tax increase and shock to the system causing a bit more scarcity of goods, job growth is going to hit another wall and the conditions for stagflation are very present. The only way out I see right now is for these companies essentially cutting employees to 20 hours per week, but hiring two people to do the job one used to do. Unemployment will go down, but wages will also drop drastically.
