Stock market is weaker than it appears...

For those people who think the stock market is up under Obama, here is a graph showing the reality
of the Dow Jones Industrial value, represented in both devalued US dollars and Gold (A measure of
nonfluctuating actual value.) Not only is every factor aside from the market worse today than it was
3+ years ago, the market has in reality not recovered either. Though it is being represented to us as
the one bright spot of the economy, until gold prices go down significantly, and the market reflects
true strength, we are still in very deep water.

I didn't even think about the devalued dollar causing the stock market to go up, but you are correct. 13000 stock market today is definitely different than a 13000 stock market 2, 5, 10, or 20 years ago. Just like a candy bar costs more now than in the past.

Great post Odin. The stock market has been inflated due to the currency being inflated. I'm afraid there is going to be a much larger stock market crash than the one from 2008 to early 2009 coming soon.

Great post. I don't think many people are aware of it but the way the Feds (Federal Reserve) is able to keep interest low is by printing more and more (paper) money. You don't have to be a genius to realize that that WILL lower it's value. (If you have an doubts about that go read what happened in Germany in the 1930s!) And I'm sure that most of you did catch the news last week that the Fed intends to keep interest low through 2015. That means that even though the stock market may continue to go higher, it's only illusionary and that the real value of a dollar will continue to decline.

Soo, the question is still "Are you better off now than you were four years ago?" I've heard a lot answers but so far I haven't heard anyone say an unqualified "yes"!

At least the only stock I own is 100 shares of Ford. I bought it at 9.85 so I only stand to lose a grand if it disappears.

I have a million reasons to vote romney. I understand 4 years is not a long time but its not a short time either. If the majority of the working class is not better off now than 4 years ago i say take this socialist out of office. Only people that are benefiting from the democrap party is the people who are abusing it and taking advantage of the system. We have to start getting conservative bigtime. Bad enough washington has spent us into a near inescapable pit of debt as it is.

I was listening to Glen Beck's radio show in Sirius/Patriot (Something I almost never do.). I only lasted
through about an hour of it. That guy takes everything I can see and multiplies it by ten. Listening to
him scares the Hell out of me. I can't take it.

Yeah, Beck gets too riled up. My nerves can't handle people like that anymore.

I'm watching the market closely, but I'm also moving more into gold. I have the feeling that the market is going to drop sometime mid-late next year. QE3 will keep it 'soaring' for a little while longer.

At some point, the Fed is going to have to end Quantitative Easing (bond/securities purchases/money printing). Then the pain beings.

This site has many good links down the page. Most are great resources, some are bunk. But they are all good reads. www.dollarcollapse.com

Yeah, same here. I was listening to one of the news people on the Fox network ranting about the Obama administration playing ads in Pakistan about how American respects all faiths but that we also support the idea of freedom of speech. They paid $70,000 to run the ads but the Fox people were screaming that they paid $70 million! Big difference! Things are bad enough, I don't need Fox and some of the other "conservatives" over exaggerating everything by 1000 to 1.

Yeah... Probably not the same at all.

You can always tell the people who don't watch FOX, but repeat some half truth denigration they got from a leftist site or news group.

Yep, I only heard the $70,000. Saw the ads replayed and was embarassed for my country. There was our President and Secretary of State blaming a freaking VIDEO for our ambassador being dragged through the streets on 9/11.

This isn't the first time that I've heard some of the commentators on Fox put their foot in their mouth! Hell, all news people frequently run off at the mouth about things that they know nothing about! And not just about political events, I frequently hear local commentators that can't even properly pronounce the names of local cities! If they can't even get the name of a local city right, do you really think that they know what they're talking about when it comes to complex political events? I doubt it! As far as I'm concerned very few of the news people, local or national, understand what they're taking about and they frequently take things out of context or just out and out lie about the stories that they're reporting on. I'm old enough, and been around enough, that I've been involved in a number of events personally and then seen how the news distorted or mis-reported events that I was personally involved in and that I had first hand knowledge of.

Of course! He's a politician! ALL of them lie! Sometimes for good reason (national security) but frequently for their own political and personal benefit. Frankly I take anything that any politician says with a very large grain of salt!
