Best part about these types of forums and the recent arrival of political threads... you can almost guarantee they didn't exist 4-12 years ago.
Everyone becomes interested in politics the minute their team is no longer on top.
Once Romney wins the election, these types of threads will fall to the bottom and no longer be used until the next democratic takeover in which it will once again, be the end of times. 1000 years of darkness, as Chuck Norris put it.
Crazy world.

ford67... You haven't been here long, so you have no clue about this forum's history concerning any thread much less political threads.

Link me a political thread from 4+ years ago discussing the outrageous actions of president bush throughout his 8 year term and ill gladly apologize for my incorrect assumptions.
I'm sure you also realize its possible to view a forum without being a member.

If you can, with a straight face, tell me that my statement about the majority of people, on both sides, only taking interest in politics when "their guy" isn't in office is not true, you are a hell of an actor.

The irony if you calling me butt hurt, meanwhile calling for moderator intervention.
Seriously.. have I really offended you that quickly with so little said ?
Moderators, quick, someone posted his opinion and it IS NOT THE SAME AS MINE!!

Cliffs: Romeny = "America's last best hope for man on earth"
Can anyone watch this without cringing ?

The search button is at the top of the page in the middle. The politics section was added about a year or two ago so you will need to look in the General Discussion section for anything older. I've been reading here since 2001 and the 2004 and 2008 elections were considerably more lively than now. Lately it has been rather one sided in here. Several of the supporters of Obama in 2008 have since recanted their support and others have moved on in their vehicles and are no longer active here.

Now go search and come back tell us how you like your crow fried, baked roasted or boiled.

The tone of your response says it all.
Sorry for voicing my concerns.

(bold) I can't say that I'm surprised.

Anyway, thanks for your response Wookie.
To be honest, I'm not a fan of crow, regardless of how it's prepared, they still taste horrible.

went to a labor day parade today and a guy came around passing out obama pamphlets. tried to engage him in some conversation and as soon as he realized i was not an obamanite he was gone. i really wanted to know what he has done and why i should vote for him.

ever notice how a liberal can never answer a question? they mumble about something else and then do the soundbite routine from the tv commercials

I did point you in the right direction, and Wookie elaborated with his post.

Run along, now.

Not quite sure what you're after there. If you look at the top of this section and the top of the GD section (no searching required) you will see why this was separated. It was mostly due to people continually stirring the pot mostly about religion which then turned to politics. Funny thing was it was mostly the anti-religion side that was starting the threads. Once they were banished into a small sub-forum the posting quickly decreased and many went away. It seems they were more about attention whoring than anything else.

How's that searching going? You see most of us in this thread are Conservatives, we do not believe in any form of welfare. For us it is better to teach a person how to use tools to better themselves rather than just giving them a handout. If we teach you how to search you can find pretty much anything you might need to know about your truck whenever you need it. If we just dug up a bunch of old threads we could certainly cherry-pick what you are told and you would remain at our mercy to gather information if you need it. See how much better the Conservative way is!

Speaking of trucks, tell us a little more about yours.

That's an awfully big paint brush you have there projetmech.
You should go into politics.
Either way, well thought out contribution to the thread. At least you're staying on topic.

I wasn't here for the 2008 elections since I had sold my F-150, but the 2004 elections, wow. During that election you couldn't be gone for more than a couple hours because there were so many posting in the threads. If you were gone for a day forget about catching up. You had many pages to read. Now we are lucky to get more than 15-20 posts in a day in the political area. Those discussions were great. Kind of makes me long for the good old days. It seems like there were always four or five hot discussions going at one time. Too bad we chased off most of the liberals.
