As I sit back and ponder a few things I am left to wonder what happened. Where did this country go wrong? There is no civility today. Nobody gives anybody the benefit of the doubt. Everybody is treated as the enemy. Not just a mildly disliked foe, but a hate their guts enemy. When did the wealth of the citizens become the wealth of the nation? When did the actions of politicians become based on hate? The conservative are said to hate the poor, the immigrant, the minorities, pretty much anybody who is not a white male or big business. The liberals are said to hate American values, white males, the rich, and big business. With the current crop of politicians I see a lot of similarities with the dumb rednecks (not to be confused with typical white people) and the black thug hood rats (not to be confused with a typical black person). They hate each other, but do the SAME things. The only difference between the two are the color of their skin or the letter following their name.

I have been a government worker for all but about 3 years of my adult life. I have never seen the supposed hate and discrimination many complain about. I do know that the government is not to be trusted with anything, but the government is not the employees any more than the employees are the government. With that said one or two bad people in positions of power can cause a lot of problems.

When did a person personal problems become the problems of the nation? Do you care if the 18 year old woman who had consensual premarital sex got pregnant? Why should you be burdened with having to pay for the child? If we have the burden to pay for the child shouldn't we, as a nation, also have the ability to tell that woman she can not have sex. The same goes for the male partner. If he is unwilling to pay for a child, shouldn't we have the right to tell that man that he can not have sex? Growing up I heard a lot, if you don't like it when you move out you can make your own rules. The basic thought was we pay for your house and food we get to tell you what you can or can not do. Shouldn't that also be applicable to those on government assistance. You want the assistance you lose some of your rights, like determining what you do all day everyday.

 

Mostly......the people got LAZY. They let the progressive schools baby sit our kids and maim their brains, then they have the gall to bitch about not getting enough money for it.
Parents are also to blame, too lazy to get involved in their kids future and allowing the Hitler youth progressives take over the parents job. That's pretty basic, just let it happen for 30 years and waa-laa, in with the good and out with the crap.....now we are faced with WORTHLESS 2-legged machines that never stop bitching and wanting to be taken care of. AMERICA......WAKE THE HELL UP................

I know this does not have too much to do with your post, but maybe it really does. I am so fed up with the reverse racism, lazy people, stupid people..............

 

There are 3 words that can sum it up perfectly...

Sense of entitlement

It isn't just in the youth, 95% of the population has it. People want, and want, and want. They want a new truck, new phone, bigger house, boat, quad, anything and everything else they can think of. It gets to the point where both parents are working full time to afford the payments on these items and by time mom and dad get home from work, cook supper for themselves and the kids, clean up the house, do laundry etc. The parents are exhausted, meanwhile the kid(s) want something and the parents just buy it for them to shut them up basically because they are exhausted.

 

Unfortunately:
there are a lot of people who just do not want to work.
hear and see what they want
want entitlements
And we have a president who wants to change the USA to a socialist form of government
PLEASE VOTE!

With all of the vitriol being thrown about, it appears the only logical conclusion to the American experiment is revolution. The left keeps going farther left and the right keeps saying no more. Sorry from where this country came from, we are very left leaning. Even comparing where we are to where we were 100 years ago even the most reasonable righty now looks like a flaming Communist. I seriously doubt we can recover from this and as a country we are doomed to go the way of Greece. I think it was J who said once the population figures out they can vote themselves benefits from the government coffers we are doom as a country. That time passed a long time ago

 

Have faith there are still a bunch of good People in this great nation. A positive attitude is everything. Do what you can to make a difference and forget abOut all the negativity if you can.

 

There lies the death of all democracies, the next step is Socialism then when that goes bust a dictator will take over. We stood a better chance by forming a Republic but that too is quickly being pushed to the wayside. It's not a question of if but when, it has happened to every democracy in history. Man has not changed, we will be no different.

 

I used to have faith that we could work something out. I don't see that happening anytime soon. It feels like the end of this nation is right around the corner. We have both far left and far right ready to go to war with each other, the media doing nothing but fueling the hatred, schools teaching great theory, but horrible workable thought. How long will the "wealthy" be willing to sit by and watch the government squander their wealth before they say enough is enough and start a revolution?

 

Unfortunately, it's pretty simple. Why would anyone want to work hard for something when the other alternative is to simply pull the correct lever on the voting machine and have somebody give it to you? And the one activity that gets lazy folks off their butts once every four years is voting!

 

LIBERALISM......thats what happened.....

 

I was thinking what if's the other day and the big what if popped into my mind. What if there really is a revolution? I think most like the way our country's government if formed, but wish to change the actions of our government. So going with that thought after any type of major revolution if it were successful, it seemed to me many would keep the Constitution, but change it. How would you change it?

What I would like to see added:
Entitlement programs can make up no more than 5% of the total budget.
The Constitution is to be interpreted in a strict manner.
If a technology did not exist when the Constitution was written then the interpretation can deviate from what was written. If the technology was in existence and not mentioned in the Constitution then it can not be provided by the government.
Lifetime term limits for all politicians, instead of the one we have for President. Something like no more than two terms in any one office and a no more than a total of three terms in all offices.
Congress shall make no law exempting themselves from any law they make.
No retirement benefits for politicians.
ALL presidential appointees must be approved by Congress, including the Czars.

Here's One: Make school vouchers a Constitutional right.

Whatever your local schools spend per pupil, you get a tax exemption for that amount if you choose to send your child to a private school.

Over a few decades, IMO, this would make a profound improvement for this country.
