We, the people....
We, the people....
I think this was put together at the University of Oklahoma. Pretty well done and worth watching, I think.

It's hard for me to understand. This video means alot to me. I was one of the many people in some of the events pictured. Ive stepped out of my comfort zone to join with total strangers attempting to redress grievances.
There are two Americas today. One where people look to the Constitution for guidance, where people believe that individual liberty is achieved through self reliance. The other believes that "freedom" means getting stuff for free, without the necessity of doing ANYTHING for it in some cases.
I'd like to believe that this message from "We the People" is getting through. I'm not so sure though. I'd like to see some signs that there is reason for optimism. Any time now.

I've got to absolutely agree with you there. I too am troubled with the path this country is on and the current leadership. Unfortunately, almost all politicians are busy buying votes right now through giving stuff to those that don't have by taking it from folks like us who have worked way too hard for it. And the current POTUS says anybody who speaks up against him is a racist and / or un-American. Well, I guess I am then.

I about as conservative as they came, and not the Neo-Con crap, that's liberalism in disguise. As I sit back and look at the country and the young people I see no way out. We are going to continue to step left we are going to continue to over spend and we are going to fail as a nation because of it. Too many people have this idea that we can afford anything so we must provide it. They refuse to accept the reality that we are spending way too much of our national income every year as deficit spending. We can survive that way for short periods, but we have to go back to making more than we spend or we will fail. That does not happen. Many government programs out there are over funded and do not work to provide for the national welfare. They do provide welfare for the nation, but that is completely different.
I hear too often that we are the richest nation in the world and we can afford to give more money to the poor. What we can afford to do does not have any basis on whether it is prudent to do it. Heck I can afford to go out and buy a 300k house, but it would not be prudent to do so.

I still don't understand why if a private citizen continually spends more than they make, they go bankrupt and that's bad. If the government does it, it's a good thing and many people actually vote for more of it.
