Not surprised.
I did not know much about him when he entered the race. Back then, he got a huge bump for being the anti-Romney flavor of the month, but he did nothing besides slide backwards. His early debate performances were horrible.
Soon, Gingrich or Santorum will garner the anti-Romney support, and challenge Mitt for the nomination.
My guess is Mitt will probably get the nomination, after a bloody battle that weakens him dramatically.
Then Paul will run as an independent, get 10% of the vote, and Obama will get be gifted a 2nd (and totally undeserved) term. Unrestrained by having to get re-elected, Obama will give us both barrels of his socialist agenda.
Not a pretty picture, but that is how it is shaping up, especially if Paul breaks off from the GOP.
