Dictator Obama

Actually, Mr. Obama, Congress knows that your policies can and will only further damage the economy. That is why they have "failed to act", as you so mistakenly put it.

What's amazed me are the people who say "whaddya mean, presidents make recess appointments all the time..."

Not understanding (or caring?) that the Senate is not currently in recess.

The term "dictator" has racial undertones. Why the hate?

There are still way, way too many people either still asleep or still drinking the kool-aid. We really are at a precipice. These Obamabots could easily push us over the edge this coming election.

I hope it's not to late. I'm still kind of young.

I had to go look at the past usage of recess appointments, to see if others have done similar things ( calling the Senate sessions fake, not recess appointments as a whole )

If I read it correctly, the pro-forma sessions were started by Reid over traditional holiday breaks ( starting in 2007 ) so Bush could not make recess appointments through the end of his last term. The pro-forma sessions are meeting where the gavel sounds every 3 days, so the Senate is not considered in session. Odd part, some of these days only 2 people were present ( 1 to make a motion, a 2nd to carry it ).

Now Obama is making recess appointments during the same pro-forma sessions, declaring the Senate in recess ( i.e. the pro-forma sessions are not really considered Senate in session meetings, he is calling the Senate in recess, even though by rules and Reid they are not ).

I still do not get how Reid, headline grabbing as always, is saying the GOP is blocking appointments ( or is it not approving of the nominations - when actually made ) while he is the one that started the pro-forma session maneuver to stop Geo W from making appointments the Senate did not approve of back in 2007.

In researching this, I found out how quick the nomination to recess appointment the NRLB staff were.
Not even 3 weeks from nomination to recess appointment.
The POTUS knew the nominees would not get approved, and just bypassed the process all together.

Dictator just about sums it up. Welcome to Machine Politics, it only gets worse from here.

Thanks for doing that research; the previous usage of the pro-forma sessions was something I was wondering about as well.

All in all, seems pretty sad indeed.

so it was okay when the left called bush a dictator, but if someone calls obama a dictator, its a racial slur? (sarcasm)

Yup, people are calling Obama white. Since the racial overtones were not present when Bush was called a dictator, that must mean being called a dictator is about the same as being called white.

I don't make the rules. I'm not spreading the propaganda. I'm like a majority of us, an intended target of it.

"The very core of what this country stands for is on the line -- the basic promise that no matter what you look like, no matter where you come from, this is a place where you could make it if you try. The notion that we're all in this together, that we look out for one another -- that's at stake in this election. Don't take my word for it. Watch some of these debates that have been going on up in New Hampshire."

Oh Barry, Joe the plumber was right in being afraid of you.
