Maybe you could start a new thread in this sub forum, to enlighten the ignorant people here. I'd sure like to know how this sub forum came to be, because to me it sure looks like someone is pandering to someone else. Mob rule perhaps?

Frank is right though, that ship has already sailed here. I could be accused of animal cruelty because I keep beating a dead horse. In the many years that I've been an active member of this forum, there hasn't been anything that I took issue with. That is until this sub forum was created, isolating political and religious discussions from the rest of the GENERAL DISCUSSIONS.

I have seen posts from the few liberals on this site that has expressed support for this sub-forum. That speaks volumes.

Maybe it's just me, but the way I read these fora is to click on the "New Posts" heading and just scroll through the list of threads that have been updated since the last time I visited, whose subjects seem interesting. I use the forum category only to help determine what subject area the post title is speaking of.

As such, whether it's in "General Discussion" vs. "Politics & Religion" vs. "Appearance and Cleaning Products" matters not to me. (Other that if it were in the latter, I'd expect it to be about a pepper-spray-based cleaning product.)

When rights become political, there's the problem.

You guys are so far off it's ridiculous. I am probably one of the most conservative members on this site and if I remember correctly, the idea for a sub forum was mine. It's existence has nothing to do with liberals or conservatives. There were complaints from members that got tired of seeing so many religeous and political threads mixed in with the other threads. There was some discussion of eliminating these threads all together since they were mostly repetitious and all ended up with nothing but bickering. It was decided that one more effort would be made. We would start a sub forum so that only those that had an interest in the subjects would have to see them. It would allow those that were offended by them to totally avoid them.

Except for those of you that have falsly percieved something sinsiter out of it, it seems to have worked very well. I get the feeling that some of you are complaining now maybe because the liberal proponents seem to have gone quiet. It just indicates to me that regardless of what you do to try to improve things, some are going to find fault and find hidden agendas when none exist. Get over it.

RSchnier, that's how I do it too. Click on New Posts.

When I see a thread title I find interesting I click on it.
I will admit when I see it is birthed in the Politics & Religion forum I stop and think "...nothing good will come of this"

And you guys hatin' on the mods, they didn't have to create this sub-forum.
They could have just used pepper spray on the lot of you.
(...notice how I got back on topic?)

Yes, when I see it's birthed there I do adopt a more entertainment-oriented mindset before diving in.

The real reason I put this thread here is because the existing threads in General Discussion seemed to be much less controversial than what this one might become. (Yes, I looked at the general theme of those threads beforehand, in deciding whether to put it there vs. here. Pretty bland stuff over there; this was more...spicy. )

Maybe a better name for this subforum might be "Controversial Topics"?

Did nobody notice the tactic of changing the topic when the facts prevent you from winning the discussion. The entire video is out and the students went from victims to aggressors. End of story.

While you toss around phrases that label people as you place blame, and talk about ships sailing and speaking volumes, do a quick post count and see who really uses this sub-forum. You might be surprised by the facts for a change.

How about you just post up the post count per member, as it sounds like you already did the addition per thread reply count.
There are a 151 threads in this sub form.
Clicking on 151 thread reply counts, saving the post count page to import into Excel, then sort by member name, and then add the post counts per member would take some time. Even longer ( and subject to error ) is writing down each count per user on paper, and adding them up.
If there was only a URL for the post count at the GD forum level, it would go much quicker.

It's funny that serotta comments while missing the point entirely.
