Can't say that I'm surprised. Here in the Atlanta area, it's difficult to find one house under construction. If their figures were correct, that would mean much more construction should/should've been going on.

We're the opposite we have many under construction. All of them have been for many years and nothing has been done to them in 3-4 years.

I am shocked to see new houses being built by me.

There are 2 in a "transitional" neighborhood closer to me, and by my parents, a shattered Kimball / Pulte development ( acres and acres of plowed under farm field with something stupid like 4,000 residences to be built on it ) has 3 lots with new homes being built on them.
The main drag that I use, it that takes it down to 25+ empty lots on that road alone.

I guess the banks are holding to their guns, and someone figured that an empty lot could be had and build on it for cheaper than one of the 50 some odd empties in the development.
