There are other considerations as well but, I don't want to trample on anyones fun.
The statement presented in the graphic is still true, even if the debt was paid off at some point. It is saying that the cumulative debt for all prior presidents was a certain amount, that would be the balance at the end of Bush's term. Even if the balance had been paid off several times, this was still the same number for all presidents prior to Obama. I have no idea if the numbers presented are correct, but the graphic communicates correctly.

It doesn't take an Einstein to see that Obama's spending has been wasteful and deleterious for our economy. 4 more years of this guy and we'll be toast.

How anyone can support anything he says/does now is ridiculous. He is Jimmy Carter Part II.

If that is the rule the image is still incorrect.

Replace Washington with this guy...

At some point, he did pay off the three rocks he owed but, we must be all-inclusive.

Says you!

Are you really old enough to quantify that statement?
(think long before you answer that)

Slight correction here. Grandpa paid off the mortgage then took out another one the next year. So everyone who has left the house, has left with a mortgage. It doesn't matter if you paid everything off, if you had to go out and refinance everything again the next year. It is obvious that the country wasn't strong enough, financially, to afford to pay everything off and keep it paid off.

I'm sure that the jpeg creator did not do a running calculation of Presidents one thru 43 rather, he took the Bush number and ran.

In 1835, the National Debt was laid to rest.
You people have been watching way too much of that Walking Dead series.

My point is all that many more presidents added together still did not spend what this one has. That was the point the author seemed to be making.

The difference between Presidents and you and I is they inherit all of the debt and associated future interest from their predeccesors. Plus, Obama's debt is extended 12 years out and he's only served three.

Imagine what a lousy credit risk you would look like if you were getting your pappys and grandpappys credit card bills.

And Abraham Lincoln didn't have to buy $600 hammers and $800 toilet seats.
I'm gonna stop with the other considerations now because the simple picture and simple message lose impact when the layers get peeled back and I don't want to be hated on no more.

It would be the same as it is. My Pappy and Grandpappy had no credit cards. I have one, but the balance is $0. Find another example.

Then you need to deal with wittom.
Banning is probably too harsh but a suspension would probably be in order.

(hated to do that wit but, the Man says he don't own no sandals)

It has been suggested I get some sandals to wear with my speedo. I think my boots are just fine.

I'm struggling in trying to come up with a way to use the word "dashing" in the same sentence here. It just doesn't work for some reason.
