How ridiculous is it to get weapons parts from a Communist country like China. South Korea and Japan are great allies of ours. Even so, if it weren't for "free" trade agreements, these parts would still be made here. And the costs wouldn't necessarily be "hundredfold" more expensive.

 

I work in the aerospace industry and understand what it takes to make something truly meet the aerospace/Mil-Spec grade. I don't doubt it would add a hundred fold to the price. Every screw we install can be traced back to the lot number it came from when it was created. The same screw can be bought at Autozone but does not carry the same history. If this is a requirement for a civil aircraft why is it not the same for military hardware? Especially since most civil aircraft use US military specifications as the standard.

Why do we trust the Chinese for anything? They have already proven they will paint a baby's crib with lead paint. They have also shown they can not make dog food! A dog can and will lick its own butt yet the Chinese can not make food that is safe for them to eat!

America seems to be the land destined to sell itself for a bag of cheap beads...
