The 2009 ARRP program has $ 25B sent to the DOE for handing out loans to green projects.

DOE site had a good power point deck on the topic, and actually listed these 2 car companies as part of the funding.

This is the same pile of money that the JCI battery plant in MI came from, as well as the other get rich quick schemes in CA.

Oddly enough 30 years on, and Carter type stupidity with solar energy is still going on ( the panels he paid a boat load of money for to install on the WH, that did nothing and Ronnie took off ).
