Obama was going to pinch a loaf

But Boehner was in the stall so Obama decided to do it in another stall.

Who cares. Can't you do a report on fainting goats or maybe Jim Carey?

The question is - what is NBC going to do? I wouldn't be surprised if they preempt the game and remove your viewing choice.

Most media outlets are sidestepping the matter of obama not following the correct protocol for giving his speech. The Speaker is the one to invite the President, not the President inviting himself. It also must be approved by the Senate. The fact that obama wanted to give his speech at the same time as a GOP Presidential debate does make it seem even more suspicious.

Wookie - Breaches of protocol rarely get reported unless they are made by Republicans.

Imagine if the parties were reversed and a Republican incumbant attempted to pre-empt a Dem debate, and address a joint session without a Dem invitation. There would surely be much consternation among the media. The President would be described as a heavy handed ignoramus, ignorant of the rules and social niceties which are essential for effective governance.

Unfortunately, you are absolutely correct.

Precisely. I'll never forget one of the networks (I think it was CBS's 60 minutes) running a story where a former official in the administration referred to the Bush administration as, "the blind leading the blind." Oh, that interview would've been left on the cutting room floor if it were a Democrat. Doubtful the interview would've happened at all.

Fox is sure raking Obama over the coals for it, and rightfully so!

The only reason the MSM got after him with his semi monthly Obama-Vision in 2009, for an hour every Monday night was due to the loss of ad revenue.
That and Fox not preempting House, as they were carrying it on Fox News so they figured why trash the revenue on the TV station.

Obama figured he was important enough to have the whole country listen to him on Monday nights.

While true that Obama ( the office of the POTUS ) is a position of power, I would say it is no longer the most powerful position.
Obama made a mockery of the office when he did the world apology tour in 2009.

South American Countries could care less what input the US has after that event, where before there was considerable input from the US.
Basically the same as Pakistan & India, send us the money and shut up ( and the US does ).

On the part about Obama-vision, what other president felt he was important enough to tie up 1 hr on monday nights in prime time ?
