Dear Frank:

I really wish that you would not pick on Algore. I love him and have even sent away for my Algore tin foil hat and removable massage towel. It is my considered opinion that he is one of the greatest minds in America since Abbot and Costello, or maybe even the Three Stooges combined.

Please show this giant the respect he deserves!.................Oh wait you did!:lol :

A few quotes from him in the video the article provided that I find rather interesting when you stop and think about his angle.

"challenge the climate deniers" 0:17
...because a climate savior like him needs an opportunity to do the following,
"It means asserting your beliefs." 0:20
"It means confronting candidates and elected officials with the depth of your conviction and the strength of your passion." 0:25
Why? Because politicians only care about votes. If millions of people say they want a cookie every day a politician will build his campaign on daily cookie deliveries.
"It is difficult to deny the facts that people spew out" 2:20
...as if anything he is saying does not fall under the same category of spewing. This is a typical case of labeling, using words with a stigma in conjunction with opposing views.
"But I think it is the same where the moral component is concerned" 3:40
Facts are not moral. Facts do not need to be believed in because they are testable and will yield the same results nearly every time. I don't need to believe in gravity, I can drop a ball and watch it work.
"and sometimes contrarians in science became famous by overturning an accepted view and so there is a natural respect for that impulse. But this is different." 6:34
How is it different? Because he wants to turn it into a philosophical debate that uses scientific topics in place of actual testable evidence? People are more easily convinced by simple philosophical results that complicated data.

He has proved to me that he has no scientific basis anymore. He may have started out with some but now he is relying on rhetoric to reinforce his point. To say anyone who opposes him is effectively racist, as in making judgment with no logical basis, shows that his word should be followed even in the presence of contradictory fact. Sounds more like a religion than science and that is only supported by his interview. I guess the world will overheat then go flat again. Hope we don't get that poor luck of ending up on the bottom and falling into space all because we didn't believe Father Albert.

I also noticed that hidden in the background was the words "FEAR" and the "LESS" part was rather hidden. Yes, listen to him because you shall have fear. Place your trust in Father Albert Gore!

Do we need to be more environmentally responsible? YES, historically we will kill an environment if it means we make a profit, an idea that we have more of something than the next guy. We do destroy things and actually accomplish very little good for species besides our own.

For the most part I can agree with this statement. Responsible management of our resorces is a must. However when it goes overboard then that is a problem.

An example would be the Delta Smelt fish here in Calif. some of them get sucked up in the pumps that supply water to the central valley farming communities. Is it inviormentaly prudent to not pump water to the central valley and cut off the farmers? I say no it isn't, this is a virtually a year round growing area that supplies much of the fruits and vegetables to the rest of the country. So for the sake of a non food source fish should we make the rest of the country go hungry or pay higher food prices? As with any topic there is a balance that needs to be maintained. A better solution would be for the dept. of fish and game to try to find an alternate solution, like another habitat that the fish could populate.

Unfortunatly BAFOONS Al Gore would have us shut off all the water to the central valley for the sake of the fish. He has a mentality of YOU need to cut back or conserve so I can have more. He demonstrated this when he was VP and wanted to take a canoe trip for his vacation. The water levels were not high enough to float the canoe so he had them open the gates upstream. At the time he did this there was a water shortage it that area.

So anything that comes out of his mouth MUST be measures on the B/S Ricter scale because he has no connection to reality.

I think, Longshot270, we are pretty much on the same page.

That is the problem today. Rules were put in place years ago when management had a practical mindset, would actually evaluate the data correctly and could keep a balance. Now you have too many people in powerful positions with no practicality in mind and bend to the highest paying special interest group. Luckily in Texas TPWD had been doing a pretty good job.
